Soma Believes:

That the Bible (Old and New Testament) is the infallible, divinely inspired word of God and is the only authority of faith and Godly conduct.  (2 Timothy 3:15-171 Peter 1:23-252 Peter 1:20-21)

Soma Believes:

There is one true and living God, the Creator of all things; All knowing, Eternal Love, the Redeemer of mankind, He has revealed Himself as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.  (John 1:1-14John 10:30John 14:261 John 5:7)

Soma Believes:

Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and is the only begotten Son of the Father.  Jesus lived a sinless life, was crucified on the cross, buried in a borrowed tomb and rose from the dead.  He ascended to the right hand of the Father as the intercessor.  (Matthew 1:18-23Hebrews 7:25-26Acts 2:331 Corinthians 15:3,4)

Soma Believes:

That God has created man good and free of any evil.  However, of his own choice, man transgressed the will and command of God; thereby inheriting the nature of sin which results in spiritual as well as physical death.   (Genesis 1:26-313:1-7Romans 5:12-21)

Soma Believes:

That man’s only hope to be redeemed is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.  Salvation is received “if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”.  (Romans 10:9-10)

Soma Believes:

The inward witness of the Spirit and the outward witness of a holy and righteous life are the evidence of salvation.  (Romans 8:16;Ephesians 4:241 John 3:23)

Soma Believes:

And practices the ordinance of water baptism by immersion.   Baptism symbolizes that the “born again” person has died with Christ and has been raised with Him in newness of life.  (Matthew 3:13-17Matthew 28:19Romans 6:4)

Soma Believes:

And practices the ordinance of Holy Communion.  All believers are to share in this memorial until the return of our Lord.  We partake in Communion as a remembrance of Jesus Christ’s suffering and death.  (Luke 22:17-201 Corinthians 11:23-26)

Soma Believes:

In the baptism of the Holy Ghost.  This being the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church should be experienced by all in the body of Christ today.  With the baptism in the Holy Spirit comes a deeper reverence of God, the bestowment of the gifts of the Spirit, endowment of power for life and service, as well as a greater love for the mighty things of God.  (Acts 2:1-4Acts 2:42-43Acts 10:44-46;Acts 19:61 Corinthians 12:4-11)

Soma Believes:

Sanctification is the act of separating from evil, sin and the lusts of the world.  In identifying with Christ and exercising faith in His sacrificial death and resurrection the believer’s sanctification becomes a reality to him.  (1 Corinthians 1:30Galatians 2:201 Thessalonians 4:3;Hebrews 12:14Hebrews 13:12)

Soma Believes:

In divine healing as provided in Christ’s atonement.  Divine healing is a part of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  (Isaiah 53:4-5Matthew 8:16-17;James 5:14-16)

Soma Believes:

Jesus Christ is the head of the Church (His body) and is its source of authority and power.  Each person who has been born of the Spirit is an important part of the Church.  The church has as its divine mission the command of our Lord Jesus Christ to take the gospel to the entire world and to make disciples of all nations. (Ephesians 1:22Hebrews 12:23Matthew 28:19-20)  Soma is established to evangelize the world, worship God and edify the body of saints.  (Ephesians 1:11-16Mark 16:15-20John 4:23-24)

Soma Believes:

In the pre-millennial second coming of Jesus Christ.  The dead in Christ will rise first then those who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  (Acts 1:10-111 Thessalonians 4:13-18Revelation 1:7)

Soma Believes:

Those who names are not found written in the Book of Life shall enter into everlasting punishment and torment; while the righteous enter into everlasting life and peace.  (Daniel 12:2Matthew 25:46John 5:29Jude 1:7Revelation 19:20)

Lead them out! Pastor Shaun

This morning I read a post by my Brother-in-law, Mike Rester about John 8:31-32  "If you abide in my word, you are my disciples indeed.  And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free."  His encouragement is that we have the keys to loose those who are bound.  I agree!  The truth of Jesus will set anyone ...
